Mission and approach
Pulsebetty publishes independent, data-driven analysis of online sportsbooks and sports betting markets. Our goal is to help readers make informed decisions based on transparent methodology — not marketing copy.
Pulse Score™ methodology
Every sportsbook on Pulsebetty is rated using our proprietary Pulse Score™ system. The score is a weighted average of six axes:
| Axis | Weight | What it measures |
|---|---|---|
| Bonuses & Promos | 25% | Welcome offer value, wagering requirements (lower = better), reload and loyalty programs |
| Odds Quality | 20% | Margin (lower = better), boosted prices, market depth on top leagues. Pinnacle baseline used as industry technical reference. |
| Payments | 15% | Crypto support, withdrawal speed, payment method diversity |
| UX & App | 15% | Web mobile, iOS, Android scores, bet builder, cash-out, live streaming |
| Customer Support | 10% | Channels, 24/7 availability, response time, languages |
| Trust & Safety | 15% | License jurisdiction, years operating, payout reliability, responsible gambling tools |
Scores are out of 10 and grouped into tiers:
- Elite (9.0+): Best-in-class across most axes
- Strong (8.0–8.9): Consistent performer, recommended
- Solid (7.0–7.9): Competent option with specific strengths
- Mixed (6.0–6.9): Notable weaknesses; specific use cases only
- Avoid (<6.0): Significant concerns
Editorial independence
Pulse Scores and recommendations are determined by methodology, not by commercial relationships:
- Editors writing reviews do not have access to affiliate commission rates
- Sportsbooks cannot pay to improve their score, gain prime placement, or influence written copy
- Bonus payments, gifts, or sponsored placements would be clearly labeled as such (we do not currently accept any)
- Operators that have no affiliate relationship with us are still eligible for review if relevant to readers
Data sources
Our reviews and analyses draw on:
- Public licensing records (Curacao Gaming Authority, MGA, UKGC, etc.)
- Operator websites for current bonus terms, payment methods, supported markets
- Independent industry reports (eCOGRA, GLI, SBC News, etc.)
- App Store and Google Play ratings (as of review date)
- Direct testing of platforms by editorial staff (where legal in our jurisdictions)
- Aggregated user feedback from third-party review platforms (AskGamblers, Trustpilot, etc.)
- For predictions: Elo ratings, xG models, head-to-head data, Monte Carlo simulations (10,000 runs per match)
AI and editorial workflow
Pulsebetty uses AI assistance for parts of our content production — specifically for statistical modeling (Pulse Engine v3.4 for sports predictions) and editorial drafting support. Editorial review and final judgment remain human-led. Specifically:
- AI predictions: generated by our Pulse Engine v3.4 (Monte Carlo simulations on 240+ data points). Methodology is published at /ai-predictions/methodology/.
- AI-assisted drafting: may be used to support content production, but every published page is reviewed by an editor before publication.
- Pulse Score calculations: deterministic from underlying data — no AI subjectivity involved.
